Overview
The Lemosho Route is considered one of the most scenic and least crowded ways to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Starting from the western side of the mountain, it offers an exceptional variety of landscapes, including lush rainforest, wide moorlands, and the stunning Shira Plateau with its sweeping panoramic views.
Thanks to its longer duration and gradual ascent, the route provides excellent acclimatization opportunities, which significantly increases summit success rates. For this reason, Lemosho is a popular choice among trekkers who prefer a quieter trail combined with breathtaking scenery.
While the 8-day Lemosho itinerary is most commonly recommended for better acclimatization and a more comfortable pace, the 7-day option is also available for those with limited time and good fitness levels.
