9 DAYS DAR – MIKUMI NP – RUAHA NP – NYERERE NATIONAL PARK
Overview
The Rongai Route is one of the most remote and least crowded paths to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Approaching the mountain from the northern side near the Kenyan border, this route offers a quieter and more peaceful trekking experience compared to the southern routes.
Throughout the journey, trekkers enjoy striking views of Mawenzi Peak and the vast northern plains. The trail passes through a variety of ecological zones, beginning with lush rainforest and gradually transitioning into heath, moorland, alpine desert, and finally the icy summit zone.
Due to its gradual ascent profile, the Rongai Route provides good acclimatization opportunities, making it a suitable choice for trekkers who prefer a steadier climb with fewer crowds. Its remote nature, combined with scenic diversity, creates a unique and memorable Kilimanjaro experience.
