Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your Golden Memories Safaris guide will pick you up from your hotel around 7:45 AM and drive towards Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s best wildlife destinations. The journey takes approximately two hours before you enter the park and begin your first exciting game drive. Tarangire is famous for its enormous elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, seasonal wetlands, open savannahs and the Tarangire River, which attracts wildlife throughout the year. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic location inside the park before continuing your afternoon game drive.

Stay: Mawe Mawe Manyara Lodge. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, continue to Lake Manyara National Park, a beautiful and diverse wildlife destination located beneath the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Although relatively compact, Lake Manyara offers a remarkable variety of landscapes, including groundwater forests, open grasslands, acacia woodland, dramatic cliffs and the seasonal soda lake. During your game drive, you may encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, hippos, baboons, monkeys and numerous bird species. The park is also known for its famous tree-climbing lions, although sightings are never guaranteed.

Stay: Mawe Mawe Manyara Lodge. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 4: Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, your journey continues towards the world famous Serengeti National Park. As you travel through the Ngorongoro Highlands, enjoy spectacular scenery and, weather permitting, stop at the Ngorongoro Viewpoint for an unforgettable view over the magnificent crater. Continue towards Serengeti with a picnic lunch along the way. Once inside Serengeti National Park, the landscape changes dramatically into endless golden plains dotted with acacia trees and rocky kopjes. Your afternoon game drive begins as you make your way towards the Seronera area, the central heart of Serengeti and one of Tanzania’s most productive wildlife viewing regions. Look out for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes and many other species. As the sun begins to set, continue to your tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Stay: Moyo Tented Camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 5: Full Day Serengeti Wildlife Safari

Today is dedicated entirely to exploring Serengeti National Park. Rise early to take advantage of the best wildlife-viewing hours, when predators are often active and the morning light creates spectacular safari conditions. The Seronera Valley is known for its permanent water sources, rocky kopjes, open plains and rich concentration of wildlife. Spend the day searching for the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino, while also watching for cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, hippos, zebras and the enormous herds of wildebeest and gazelles that make Serengeti famous. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness before continuing your afternoon game drive. For an additional cost, you may also choose an unforgettable Serengeti hot air balloon safari, subject to availability.

Stay: Moyo Tented Camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, leave Serengeti and travel towards the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, one of Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife destinations. The journey itself provides opportunities for wildlife viewing as you leave the Serengeti plains behind. Upon reaching the crater, descend into the crater floor for an unforgettable game drive. The crater’s enclosed ecosystem supports a remarkable concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, flamingos and, with some luck, the endangered black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch while surrounded by the incredible scenery of this ancient volcanic caldera. After your crater safari, ascend the crater walls and continue to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Stay: Mawe Mawe Manyara Lodge. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 7: Karatu to Arusha

Enjoy your final breakfast in Tanzania before checking out around 11:00 AM.
